CONTENT:

  1. Adjuncts are adverbs
  2. Manner adjuncts mostly end in -ly (e.g., quickly, slowly)
  3. Reason adjuncts express cause using “because”, “since”, etc.
    Examples:
  • He walked slowly.
  • She cried because she was hurt.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Learners should be able to:
a. Define adjuncts of manner and reason
b. Identify and use manner and reason adjuncts in sentences
c. List more -ly words and use “because” in contextual writing
