INTRODUCTION
The teacher introduces the lesson by explaining the concept of a formal letter.
Learners observe and participate.

  1. Meaning of a Formal Letter:
    • A formal letter is written for official purposes such as communication with institutions, authorities, or businesses.
  2. Format of a Formal Letter:
    • Address and Date: Learners are shown how to write the sender's address, followed by the date on the left-hand side of the letter.
    • Salutation: The teacher explains how to address the recipient respectfully. Example: "Dear Sir/Madam."
    • Body:
      1. Introduction: State the purpose of the letter.
      2. Main Body: Elaborate on the subject of the letter.
      3. Conclusion: Summarize the message and request or suggest the action you want the reader to take.
    • Closing: A formal closing, such as "Yours faithfully," is used. The teacher explains the appropriate subscript format.
