NOTE

BALL GAMES: SOCCER PRACTICAL

In this practical session, the teacher should teach the students the fundamentals of soccer, including ball control, passing, dribbling, and shooting.

  1. Equipment: Before starting, ensure you have a soccer ball, a goal or target area, cones or markers, and comfortable clothing and shoes.
  2. Warm-up: Begin with a 5-10 minute warm-up that includes light jogging, stretching, and footwork exercises.
  3. Ball Control: Practice controlling the ball with different parts of your feet, including the inside, outside, sole, and laces. Start by kicking the ball against a wall and controlling it as it rebounds.
  4. Passing:

 - Ground Pass: Use the inside of your foot to pass the ball along the ground to a teammate or target.

 - Lofted Pass: Use the inside of your foot to chip the ball over an opponent or into space.

  1. Dribbling:

- Basic Dribbling: Practice dribbling the ball in different directions, using both feet, and keeping the ball close to your body.

- Cone Dribbling: Set up a series of cones and practice weaving in and out of them while maintaining control of the ball.

  1. Shooting:

- Ground Shot: Use the inside of your foot to shoot the ball low and hard towards the goal or target area.

- Volley: Practice kicking the ball out of the air without letting it hit the ground, using the inside or laces of your foot to shoot.

- Cool-down: End the session with a cool-down, including stretching exercises and a slow jog.
