OCCUPATION

Occupation is the legal job one does to earn a living

 

FACTORS THAT DETERMINES OCCUPATION

  1. One’s level of education and training
  2. The natural talent and ability of a person
  3. Government policies
  4. availability of natural and mineral resources
  5. Climatic and weather conditions
  6. Conditions attached to the job i.e remuneration, fringe benefits etc

 

CLASSIFICATION OF OCCUPATION

  1. Industrial occupation: This involves those who engage in the physical

production of goods or changing of raw materials into finished or

semi-finished goods or products. They also include the assembling and

putting of component parts together to make it whole

there are three types of industrial occupation

  1. Extractive occupation- which involves extracting natural and mineral

resources from the land and water

  1. manufacturing occupation- this involves turning raw materials into

finished usable goods

  1. constructive occupation- this involves building of roads, bridges etc

 

  1. Commercial occupation- This involves the buying, selling, marketing and

distribution of goods and services

  1. Services occupation: This involves the rendering of direct(personal) and

indirect services to members of the public
