NOTE

BOARD PRACTICE, TITLE BLOCK AND BORDER LINE

Board practice refers to the deliberate engagement of students in mastering the utilization of drawing boards and drawing materials to effectively execute various drawing tasks. Through board practice, students acquire the skills necessary to appropriately position drawing paper on the drawing board, utilize a tee square for drawing straight lines, and incorporate essential drawing details indicative of proficient drawing abilities.

Techniques involved in setting drawing paper on a drawing board:

  1. Begin by cutting four small pieces of masking tape and affix them to the four corners of the drawing board.
  2. Position the drawing sheet onto the drawing board and place the tee square atop the drawing sheet.
  3. Align the stock of the tee square with one side of the drawing board, ensuring careful alignment of the longer side of the drawing sheet with one of the sides of the tee square blade.
  4. Once the head stock is securely set against the board and the paper's side aligns with the tee square blade, press the tee square down onto the paper with one hand while using the other hand to affix the masking tape to the four corners of the paper.
  5. Proceed to draw border lines on all four sides of the drawing sheet, ensuring a consistent distance of 1cm or 10mm from the edge of the paper.
  6. Conclude the setup by adding a title block at the bottom right corner of the drawing sheet. The title block should measure 75mm by 32mm and be divided into four equal rows spaced 0.8cm or 8mm apart. Details such as Name, Title, Class, and Date are then entered into the respective rows of the title block.

Title block and borderline

The title block is a section of a technical drawing or document that contains essential information such as the title of the drawing, the scale at which it is drawn, the date of creation, the name of the drafter or author, and any other relevant details. The border line is a line or boundary that frames the drawing, providing a clear visual separation between the drawing and the surrounding space.

These elements contribute to the organization, clarity, and professionalism of technical drawings and other visual presentations.
