INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES:
STEP 1:
The teacher revises the previous lesson and introduces the concept of summary writing. The teacher defines a summary as a brief and concise version of a longer text that highlights only the main points or ideas.

STEP 2:
The teacher explains the key characteristics of a summary:

  • It is written in the learner's own words.
  • It should be brief and focused.
  • It only includes the main ideas and excludes irrelevant details.
  • It may include linking words such as “first,” “second,” “furthermore,” etc., to ensure coherence and flow.
