FAMILY CONFLICTS

Family conflict is simply the disagreement over certain issues of members of a family

CAUSES OF FAMILY CONFLICTS

  1. Power Tussle: This when a family member wants to be in control of other family members
  2. Personality difference: Different personality types can clash in a family
  3. Situations and circumstances: Certain situations may trigger different actions and reactions

 

WAYS OF RESOLVING CONFLICTS

  1. Accept what you can and cannot control
  2. Let any anger subside
  3. Try to understand other family members’ perspectives
  4. Understand how it affects the whole family
  5. Negotiate and reach compromises
  6. Try reaching out rather than withdrawing
  7. Seek professional help and support if needed
  8. Minimize or end contact completely if nothing helps
