PERIOD 1 AND 2: Demonstrative Pronouns

These is used for things close in plural form. That is used for something far in singular form. Those is used for things far in plural form. The teacher provides examples: This is my book. Those are my books.	Learners listen and take notes, asking for further clarification where needed.
3	GUIDED PRACTICE	The teacher provides sentences for the learners to fill in the blanks with the correct demonstrative pronoun: ______ is my pencil. ______ are the students I mentioned. I can’t find ______ (my keys). The teacher guides the learners as they work.	Learners complete the exercises, and the teacher discusses the answers with the class.
4	STUDENT ACTIVITY	The teacher divides the learners into small groups and asks them to create five sentences using demonstrative pronouns. Each group shares their sentences with the class.	Learners work in groups to create sentences and present them to the class.
5	CLASS-WORK	\|The teacher assigns the following as classwork: 1. Write five sentences using this and these. 2. Write five sentences using that and those.	Learners complete the sentences and submit them for review.
6	ASSIGNMENT	The teacher assigns homework for further practice: 1. Write a short paragraph about your school, using at least three demonstrative pronouns. 2. Rewrite the paragraph, replacing some of the demonstrative pronouns with others.	Learners complete the assignment at home.
