SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  • State the meaning of still life drawing
  • Identify still life drawing and explain
  • Draw still life objects

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: The Teacher uses Paper, Cardboard, Pencil, Eraser, Sketchpad, Photographs, Old calendars etc.

The teacher introduces Still Life drawing as the drawing of man-made objects

She explains that it is also known as man-made objects. It is the drawing of various object made by man.

METHOD USED IN Drawing STILL-LIFE DRAWING

  1. Hatching Method- This involves making used of lines and strokes that are facing the same direction on the drawn objects
  2. Cross Hatching method- is making use of stroke running from various direction and crossing each other on the drawn object
  3. Blurring method- is using shading strokes that makes drawn object to appear smooth

EVALUATION: 1) explain the meaning of still life drawing

2) Draw a still life object and apply one of the methods
