She then explains the biography of Gen Sani Abacha.

Gen Sani Abacha was born on 20th Sept 1943 in Kano. He was a military dictator who ruled Nigeria from 1993 till death in 1998. He seized Power after what was called a palace coup in 1993. He overthrew an Interim government of Chief Ernest Shonekan on 17th Nov, 1993 and established himself as a military leader. He created 6 states in Nigeria bringing the number of states in Nigeria to 36. He died on 8 June 1998.

She describes that Gen Sani Abacha was behind the Imprisonment of Chief MKO Abiola, the believed winner of the general election of 1993. He was also believed to be behind the eventual assassination of Abiola in 1998. This Regime was characterized by general Insecurity. He was described as a dictator because he allocated to himself total power and he obtained the power by force.
