He was a military head of state and military president of Nigeria from 1985 until his resignation in 1993. He was popularly called IBB and was the first military President in Nigeria. Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was born on Aug 17 1941 at Mina in Niger state. He was a military head of state and military president of Nigeria from 1985 until his resignation in 1993. He was popularly called IBB and was the first military President in Nigeria. He came into power in 1985 and resigned as military head of state when he failed to conclude the general election of 1993.
