NOTE

Inter marriage as a type of marriage between two different ethnic groups.

Advantages Of Inter Ethnic Marriage

1. It promotes National unity and eliminates tribalism or ethnicity.
2. It makes us to know more about other people’s culture and customs.
3. There is a display of cultural diversity and unity between the family members of the newly wedded couples.

Disadvantages Of Inter Ethnic Marriage

1. There is Language misunderstanding
2. There may be disunity or suspicion in the Family
3. There is Language Misunderstanding
4. The Culture of each partner may look strange and unfamiliar to each couple.

Intra Ethnic Marriage as a type of marriage when a man marries a woman from the same ethnic group

Merits of Intra Ethnic Marriage

1. There is no Language barrier
2. There is unity between the family members of both couples because they understand each other.
3. They practice the customs and tradition.
4. They have the same cultural background
5. The couples understand each other because they speak the same native indigenous language

Disadvantages of Intra Ethnic Marriage

1. Undue and unnecessary interference from family members, friends and relatives.
2. No privacy or intimacy between the two newly wedded couples as everybody understands whatever messages the couples want to pass to each other.
