INTRODUCTION OF TOPIC

The teacher revises the previous lesson Topic on the Second Republic.

She then explains That Civil rule is a way of governing the people of a country with regulated orders by the democratically elected civilians.  Constitutional Democracy rule is different from military dictatorship in that the former is guided by constitutional frame work but the military dictatorship is a rule ordered by decrees and marshal laws.

She describes the Third Republic.

The Third republic returned when the constitution of Nigeria was amended and a democratically elected government put in place under the leadership of president Olusegun Obasanjo. The amended constitution and the return of the third republic took place in 1999. Civil rule has continued in Nigeria since then till date.

Third Republic.

The Third republic returned when the constitution of Nigeria was amended and a democratically elected government put in place under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo. The amended constitution and the return of the third republic took place in 1999. Civil rule has continued in Nigeria since then till date. This republic has lasted for 23 years uninterrupted.
