  • Explain the elements of drama

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: The Teacher uses a Video/audio recorded drama

INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC

The teacher defines element of Drama as things that make up the features of Drama

She explains that these elements could be written/ unwritten, tangible and intangible.

She uses textbooks, television to show the pupils tangible(seen) aspect of the element of design and she assist the pupils as they perform a short drama

ELEMENTS OF DRAMA

  1. Written/Unwritten

-Plot- It is an outline of events in a play

-Language- is the choice of word used to express an idea in a play

     -Characterisation- is the character perform or display in a play

  1. Actors/Actress
  2. Stage-a platform where play is performed
  3. Audience
  4. Sound- It is the voice of the actors and actress that act in a play.
  5. Lighting-It is different kind of light being used in the play.
