INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
PERIOD 1: Circulatory system
PRESENTATION | TEACHER’S ACTIVITY | PUPIL’S ACTIVITY |
STEP 1 INTRODUCTION | The teacher revises the previous lesson on soil preparation
| Pupils pay attention |
STEP 2 EXPLANATION | The teacher explains the meaning of circulatory system The system that contains the heart and the blood vessels and moves blood throughout the body.
She further lists the parts of the heart The heart has four chambers: two atria and two ventricles. The right atrium receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the right ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the oxygen-poor blood to the lungs. The left atrium receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle. | Pupils pay attention and participates |
STEP 3 DEMONSTRATION | She then describes functions of the heart 1. Pumping oxygenated blood to other body parts. 2. Pumping hormones and other vital substances to different parts of the body. 3. Receiving deoxygenated blood and carrying metabolic waste products from the body and pumping it to the lungs for oxygenation. 4. Maintaining blood pressure | Pupils pay attention and participate |
STEP 4 NOTE TAKING | The teacher writes a short note on the board | The pupils copy the note in their books |
NOTE
Circulatory system
Circulatory system is the system that contains the heart and the blood vessels and moves blood throughout the body.
Parts of the heart

atrium receives oxygen-poor blood from the body and pumps it to the right
ventricle. The right ventricle pumps the oxygen-poor blood to the lungs.
The left atrium receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to
the left ventricle.
Functions of the heart
EVALUATION: 1. What is circulatory system?
CLASS ACTIVITY: Pupils as individuals, draw and label a typical heart
CLASSWORK: As in evaluation
CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively
PERIOD 2 and 3: Athletics-field event. Drawing with computer
PRESENTATION | TEACHEIR’S ACTIVITY | PUPIL’S ACTIVITY |
STEP 1 INTRODUCTION | The teacher revisits the previous lesson on rhythmic activilties | Pupils pay attention |
STEP 2 EXPLANATION | The teacher introduces the new topic by explaining what long jump is- Long jump is a field event where athletes compete by comparing lengths of their jumps where athletes try to jump as far as they can
The teacher further explains the phases in long jump 1. The approach or run-up 2. The take-off 3. The flight 4. The landing 5. The recovery | Pupils pay attention and participates |
STEP 3 DEMONSTRATION | The teacher lists the different drawing packages
| Pupils pay attention and participate |
STEP 4 NOTE TAKING | The teacher writes a short note on the board | The pupils copy the note in their books |
