In Nigeria, civil rule started in 1963 after the years of British colonial rule ended in 1960. Nigerian gained her independence from Britain but the power of self-governance was given to Nigerian elected leaders in 1963. In 1963, Nigeria became a member of OAU( Organization of African Unity). STEP 3 DEMONSTRATION	She describes the First Republic. The First republic started in 1963 and ended in 1966. This covered a period of 3 years. Sir Abubakar was the prime minister as that time with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe as the President of Nigeria.
