She then explains

That Civil rule is a way of governing the people of a country with regulated orders by the democratically elected civilians. In Nigeria, civil rule started in 1963 after the years of British colonial rule ended in 1960. Nigerian gained her independence from Britain but the power of self-governance was given to Nigerian elected leaders in 1963. In 1963, Nigeria became a member of OAU( Organization of African Unity).

She describes the First Republic.
The First republic started in 1963 and ended in 1966. This covered a period of 3 years. Sir Abubakar was the prime minister as that time with Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe  as the President of Nigeria. A coup occurred in 1966 leading to the death of Sir Abubakar Tafewa Balewa, thus ending the first republic.
