She describes the Events that took place few years after Independence.

Few Years after the independence, the Political situation of Nigeria collapsed. There was wide scale violence in all the political activities. Equally, there was distrust among the political leaders. The north was jealous of the west and the east did not trust the west either. There was suspicion everywhere, As this was going on, there was wide spread corruption in all government departments. The result of this was the military takeover of the government just after 6 years of democratic experiment. Nigeria gained independence in 1960 and the military took over the government in 1966.
