SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  1. Itemize the steps involved in raising farm animals
  2. Identify the tools needed in raising farm animals
  3. State the guidelines for car of personal belongings
  4. Discuss the reasons for care of personal belongings

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: samples o some personal belongings e.g bags, shoes, clothes etc, charts/pictures of livestock production

The teacher revises the previous lesson on rearing of farm animals and resources

EXPLANATION

She itemizes the procedures for rearing farm animals

1. Construct a house or provide shelter.

2. Provide necessary rearing equipment e.g incubator, feeder, water pot etc

3. Buy the young animal to rear.

4.  Provide feed and water daily.

5.  Clean the house regularly

6. Routine check by veterinary personnel.

The teacher explains the meaning of personal belongings

Personal belongings are items that belong to someone and that are small enough to be carried

 

Examples of personal belongings include clothes, shoes, towel, underwear, toothbrush, wristwatch etc

 

She highlights ways of caring for personal belongings

1. wash dirty clothes, dry and iron them

2. mend spoilt shoes and torn clothes in immediately

3. keep all your personal items in their appropriate positions so that they won’t be torn or spoilt

4. Iron clothes and hang the properly

5. Once a month, air your shoes to prevent terrible smells

6. Handle them with care while using them
