INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous topic on Housing and Introduces Population.

She defines Population as the total number of people living in a particular area.

EXPLANATION

She Explains that Increase in Population means increase in the request for houses and the reduction in the number of houses available especially in urban areas.

 

Reasons Why Everybody Do Not Own Houses In Nigeria

1. Many people are low income earners

2. Cost of land is very high, especially in urban areas

3. Certificate of occupancy is very difficult

4. People cannot easily obtain loan because of high interest rate

5. Building materials are very costly

1. Reduce cost of building

2. Provision of loan facilities with low interest rates for all workers

5. Precision, etc.

 

She Explains that Values also include people’s beliefs, language, arts and way of life.

Since the Culture of people cannot be separated from the people, it is not possible to remove the values and belief of a people from their culture.

Certain Values are therefore placed on the art of people. The Value determines how such art and craft and music are practiced in the society and how they are put to use.

She Explains Robbery as the act of stealing from one another individual through the use of threat or force.

 

Causes Of Robbery

1. Greed

2. Poverty

3. Laziness

4. Inability of government to provide basic amenities

5. Ignorance of the effect and punishment

 

Ways To Prevent Robbery

1. Be observant of your surrounding

2. Walk in well- lit areas

3. Do not carry large amount of Money when walking

4. Carry keys on your hands

5. Be Aware of your surrounding

6. Trust Instinct- If you sense trouble, get away as fast as possible.
