STEP 3 DEMONSTRATION | She describes Nigeria Structure before and after independence. As at independence, Nigeria was divided into three regional arrangement, the North, west and eastern regions. In 1963, the fourth region was created from the western region called Mid- western region. The four regions were under elected premiers who were: 1. Northern Region: Sir Alhaji Ahmadu Bello 2. Western Region: Chief Obafemi Awolowo and later replaced by Chief S.L. Akintola. 3. Eastern Region: Dr. Michael Okpara 4.
