The teacher revises the previous Topic On Traditional occupations of Nigerian people (southern Nigeria)

EXPLANATION

She then explains Traditional occupations associated with the Hausa.

1. Farming: Hausa was known for the production of agricultural products like Cotton, Guinea corn, Groundnut, maize, beans, wheat, tomatoes, onions, watermelon, cucumber, soya bean, etc.

2. Cloth making: This is one of the traditional occupations of the region. Kano, Kaduna, Kastina,  etc has been reputed for cloth making in Nigeria.

3. Leather Work: Castle production is popular in Hausa land. For this reason, skin production is also popular in the region. Hides and skin are important export products of the north. Leather is produced from hides and skin. It is produced from the skin of cow, Goat, and snake etc. Leather is produced through the process of tanning.

4. Livestock Rearing: This occupation involves raising domesticated animals to produce labour and commodities such as meat, egg, milk, fur, leather and wool.

Types of Animals in Livestock farming include: Rabbit, Pig, Goat, Donkey, Sheep, Poultry, etc.
