He led a socialist movement in the Northern part of Nigeria against the British rule. He was born in Kano in 1920. He founded the Northern Element Progressive Union(NEPU) in the struggle for Nigeria Independence in the 1st republic. He also founded the People’s Redemption Party(PRP) in the 2nd republic. He was the Father of the ideology known as ‘ Politics without bitterness’.
