Writing" is the process of using symbols (letters of the alphabet, punctuation and spaces) to communicate thoughts and ideas in a readable form | Pupils observe, learn and participate |
2 | EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION/TEACHER MODELLING | The teacher further explains the four types of writing 1. Expository-It is the type of writing in which the author’s purpose is to inform or explain the subject to the reader. It is also called informational writing
2. Persuasive-it is a writing that states the opinion of the writer and attempts to influence the reader
3. Narrative-it is a writing in which the author tells a story. It could be a fiction or a non-fiction story
4. Descriptive- it is a type of expository writing that uses the five senses to paint a picture for the reader. This writing incorporates imagery and specific details
