EXPLANATION

She explains the biography Of Herbert Macaulay: Herbert Macaulay was a Nigerian, born in Lagos on the 14th Nov 1864.

He was regarded as the founder of Nigerian nationalism. He was a Nigerian Nationalist, an Engineer, an Architect, a Journalist, a Surveyor and a musician.

   He was Married to Caroline Pratt and had children. He studied in Royal Institute of British Architect and Trinity College London.

Herbert Macaulay was a political Leader. He was one of the first Nigerians to oppose British Colonial Masters. In 1881, he became a clerk in Lagos. His dedication and focus in life made him popular resulting in his award of scholarship. This took him to England to study Civil Engineering. He returned some years later to become the crown Land Surveyor for the Colony of Lagos. He helped to lay the foundation of Modern Nigerian. He joined NCNC in 1944 at the age of 80 years. In 1946, he fell sick and died on 7th of May 1946. He died at the age of 82 years. He established a newspaper called the Daily news. With the newspaper he fought against the British colonial Rule. He educated and encouraged many Nigerians to fight for their right.
