The teacher revises the previous British Rule In Nigeria

She then explains that after the attempt of the 1st expedition, the British planned another expedition in order to cease control of Nigeria.

NOTE

The Second Expedition took part in 1841 which was mounted by British missionary and activist groups in 1841-1842, using 3 British iron steam vessels to travel to Lokoja, at the confluence of the Niger River and Benue River.

Reason for This Expedition

  1. To make treaties with the native peoples.
  2. To Introduce Christianity to the Nation
  3. To promote trade between their Nation and the native people
