  2. Explain how they relate to us
  3. List obligations of the members of the Family
  4. Describe Loyalty and show the evidence of Loyaltty to Family, School and the society as a whole
  5. Discuss the consequences of disloyalty
  6. Identify National services that show Loyalty
  7. Explain the term Personal Security
  8. Analyse at least 3 sources of Threat to Personal security

INTRODUCTION

The Teacher introduces the Topic by explaining the meaning of Family-

A family is a group of two or more persons related by birth, marriage, or adoption who live together

She Explains the Types Of Family

1. Nuclear family- consists of father, mother and children

2. Extended family- consists of father, mother, children and relatives e.g grand parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and inlaws

Other Members in the Family:

1.   Uncles- is the brother of one’s Father or Mother

2.   Aunts- is the sister of one’s Father or Mother

3.   Cousins- are the children of one’s uncle or aunt

4.   Nephew- is the son of one’s brother,sister, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law

5.   Niece- is the daughter of one’s brother, sister, brother in-law, sister-in-law.

6.   Grandparents-is the parents of one’s Father or Mother

     7. In Laws- is the relationship by Marriage.

     8. Ward- This is a person your parents are responsible for. It could be the daughter or son of one of your Parents friends. Usually a ward is also a minor, which is someone who is not yet 18 years old

BENEFITS/MERITS OF FAMILY RELATIONSHIP

 Members help one another by:

1. Offering protection and guidance to one another

2. Help and support for one another

3. Provision of food and shelter

4. Providing assistance in times of need

5. Offering advise to one another

6. Promotes unity among members of the Family.
