SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  • Explain the meaning of Drawing
  • State the materials used for drawing
  • Discuss the types of drawing

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: The Teacher uses Pencils, crayon, marker, coloured pens, sketch pad, paper, cardboard sheets, drawing boards etc

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC

The teacher introduces Drawing as the act of making pictures of living and non living things on drawing papers, cardboards, etc. using appropriate materials

EXPLANATION

She explains that drawing if a form of visual art. She list examples of drawing materials, types of drawing and explain their benefit

DEMONSTRATION

She uses charts showing different types of drawing as she assist the pupils as they draw a simple objects and colour it

The teacher writes on the board while the pupils copy the note

NOTE

TYPES OF DRAWING

  1. Life drawing-This is drawing of human beings and other living things
  2. Still Life drawing- This is drawing of manmade objects e.gpot, cup
  3. Landscapes drawing-This is the drawing of natural features of the environment e.g river, grass
  4. Natural drawing- is drawing of objects that are not man-made e.g rocks, tree, streamsetc
  5. Imaginative drawing- Also called creative drawing is the type of drawing that is not real because it is drawing from human imagination e.g a dog with 4 heads

EVALUATION: 1) Explain the meaning of drawing

2) State 5 types of drawing

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation
CONCLUSION: Teacher commends the pupils positively and marks their books
