STEP 2 EXPLANATION | She narrates the story how Jesus gave his life for us - Jesus Christ went through a lot of sufferings, tortures and pains because of how weighty the sins of the world was. The sin of mankind was too great and damning as eventually going to lead to death. Jesus even though He was innocent had to take up the baggage of the sins of mankind upon himself. - He was stripped bare, flogged 39 strokes of the cane, spat on and thoroughly mocked - He was hung on the cross, worn a crown of thorns, given a sponge of sour wine and pierced on his side. - All these he bore so that mankind may die no more but rather have eternal life | Pupils pay attention and anticipate |

Jesus Christ went through a lot of sufferings, tortures and pains because of how weighty the sins of the world was. The sin of mankind was too great and damning as eventually going to lead to death. Jesus even though He was innocent had to take up the baggage of the sins of mankind upon himself.
