SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  • Explain the meaning of leaf and thumb printing
  • Identify leaves suitable for printing
  • Print with leaves thumb to create designs.

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: The Teacher uses Paper, Colour, Leaves, Thumb, Charts, Photograph, Board, Book, Cardboard sheets and Pencil.

STEP 1

INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC

The teacher defines Print making as the process of reproducing text and images on a desired surface

She gives the types of printing and explains them.

She also give the advantage and Disadvantage of print making

DEMONSTRATION

The Teacher uses water colour or ink and paper to show the pupils how to make a thumb print on the paper as she assist them in doing so.

TYPES OF PRINTING

  1. Leaf printing-The process of making leaf design on another surface. This is done by putting ink or dye on leaf and placing on another surface(paper)
  2. Thumb Printing- This is the process of making thumb design with Human thumb on a surface. This is done by putting ink on the thumb and placing it on another surface.
