  1. Identify different ways of maintaining flowers
  2. Summarize the meaning of stitches
  3. List the different types of stitches
  4. Explain the types of stitches

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the tools/materials used in horticulture and Care of simple sewing tools

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains the ways of maintaining flowers

1. Choose the Correct Pot. Drainage is extremely important for your plant.  

2. Use Good Potting Soil.

3. Watering: Not Too Much and Not Too Little.  

4.  Give Them Plenty of Light.  

5. Keep Pets Away.  

6. ensure the temperature is on either extremes

The teacher explains the meaning of stitches

Stitches mean movement of a threaded needle in sewing or in closing a wound : a portion of thread left after one such movement

 

She outlines the types of stitches and gives examples

 

1. TEMPORARY STITCHES:

Even tacking.

Uneven tacking.

Diagonal tacking.

Tailor's tacking.

 

2. PERMANENT STITCHES

Running stitch Backstitch

Overcast stitch

Over hand stitch  Whipping

 

3. DECORATIVE STITCHES

Cross stitches

Loop stitches

Chain stitches
