Introduction

The teacher revises the previous topics and introduces savings.

Saving means setting aside a specific amount of money for future use.

Bank is a financial institution or organization where we save and borrow money.

Explanation

She explains the types of savings

1. Traditional way- this involve how people saved in the olden days. It include: saving in pots, digging a hole and putting the savings in it, saving under the bed, giving credit to thrift collector.

2. Modern way- this involve how people save money now a days. It include: saving in banks, fixing in a fixed deposit account, buying shares, mutual funds, insurance, cooperative societies, government bonds. Etc

She explains the types of banks in Nigeria

1. Regulatory body: the central bank of Nigeria is the only bank that falls under this category. CBN is the apex bank in Nigeria. It is the regulatory body that controls the activities of all other banks and financial institutions in Nigeria.

2. Commercial banks: are banks that perform commercial activities for their customers. This involves accepting deposits from customers, opening account etc.

3. Merchant bank: are banks that deals with large scale importation and exportation for their customers. They are primarily for merchant traders

4. Mortgage banks: are banks that specializes in acquisition, ownership and sales of houses

5. Micro finance banks: are banks set aside to help small and micro business to start up, monitor them and nurture them to greater heights.

Parents must inculcate the right values in their children such as:

5. Good family and societal values.

 

Duties and responsibilities of children in building the nation.

1. Obedience to parents

2. Respect for their teachers

3. Learn the spirit of great team work

4. Having good communication

5. Taking responsibility of their action

1. Local guard: this is a residential guard known as gateman. He protects life and properties within the building and prevents uninvited guest from gaining access to the premises.

2. Vigilante group: is a community security who protects life and prosperity in the community and prevent all forms of criminal behavior
