NOTE
Nigeria with over 150 million population and more than 370 ethnic groups has three major ethnic groups: Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. There are several other ethnic groups numbering more than one million members which include
THE GBAGYI PEOPLE
They are located in Niger, Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja. They migrated from Borno to their present location due to a conflict with the Kanuris.
The Gbagyis have held up their customs and traditions for as far back as possible and even though the younger generations are drifting away, they still hold it in high esteem. One of such custom is placing of goods on their shoulder by the Gbagyi women. they believe that the head is the king of the body and should not be bothered.
They are mainly farmers, hunters and some others are into pottery and wood work. They are quite friendly to strangers but it takes time for them to build firm friendships due to trust issues
