SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  • Explain what dance is
  • State the features of Nigerian traditional dances
  • Perform any traditional dance

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: The teacher teaches with the aid of: drums, flutes, costumes, gong, pictures and tapes of traditional dances

The teacher introduces Traditional dance as a local dance with local music or musical instruments and beliefs.

EVALUATION:1) Explain the meaning of traditional dance

2)Differentiate between foreign and traditional dance

CONCLUSION: Teacher commends the pupils positively and marks their books
