SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;

aRecognize, read and spell the ‘ght’ and ‘nce’ sounds

ENENTRY BEHAVIOR: Pupils can identify all alphabets letters and long and short vowel sounds

SET INDUCTION: The teachers uses the phonics songs 'We are clicking castanets' to arouse the interest of the pupils

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Discussion, group activities,

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Flash cards, phonics sound chart, audiovisual clips of the phonics sound/song, pictures of objects with the 'ght' and ‘nce’ sounds

GUIDED PRACTICE

- Shows the pupils clue cards with the ‘ght’ in front and a clue word at the back. Have them say the clue word then sound ‘ck’ it represents e.g insight(ght)-

 

-Shows the children several images of words containing the ‘ght’ sound and asks them to pronounce it aloud

- Gives the pupils exercises on the ‘ck’ sound
