SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

  1. Explain the meaning of Agriculture
  2. Discuss importance of agriculture
  3. Define Home economics
  4. Explain the scope of Home economics

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources: pictures, a farm land with crops and animals, display of agricultural produce and animal buy-products, chart showing the different areas of Home Economics

Agriculture simply means the study of the planting of crops and the raising of animals

 

She further highlights the importance of Agriculture

1. we derive our food from agriculture

2. we get raw materials for making clothes, shoes and other accessories

3. we get raw materials used in building and construction

4. Our medicines are made from agricultural products

5. There are job opportunities available in agriculture e.g teaching, farming, animal husbandry etc
