SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to;
ENTRY BEHAVIOR : Pupils can identify and recite all the letters of the alphabets and the vowels
SET INDUCTION : The teachers uses the ‘I know my vowels’ song to arouse the pupils

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS : Index cards with root words and suffixes listed in the lesson, Large cardboard paper cut into circles with suffixes written on them; one set for each group

PERIOD 1 AND 2: Sounding, identification and writing of suffixes

3 | GUIDED PRACTICE | - Distributes Suffix and root words index cards to pupils, Then reads out words with suffixes allowing the pupils with the corresponding root word and suffix to come to the front of the group to assemble the word As many suffixes and root word will be the same, have pupils take turns
