ENUGU
It is the capital of Enugu state in Nigeria. Its name is derived from the Igbo words Enu Ugwu which means hill top. It was named after Enugwu Ngwo where coal was found. It was the capital of the Eastern region after Nigeria’s independence in 1960. Industries in Enugu include urban markets and bottling companies. Enugu is also one of the film loations for directors of the Nigerian movie industry dubbed ‘Nollywood’. Enugu’s main airport is Akanu Ibiam International Airport. Its estimated population is 722,664
