STEP 1

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous lesson on the death and resurrection of Christ

And introduces the new topic by explaining what promise and comforter mean

Promise means a declaration or assurance that one will do something or that a particular thing will happen

 

Comforter means someone who provides consolation

Pupils pay attention

STEP 2

EXPLANATION

She explains the promise of Jesus to His disciples

-      At the event of His ascension into heaven, Jesus told His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until the arrival of the Holy Spirit

-      The Holy Spirit could not come to the earth unless Jesus left. But when the Holy Spirit comes upon them, they’ll become powerful witnesses of Him in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth

The teacher explains the person of the Holy Spirit

-      The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity.

-      He is also known as the Comforter who will guide Jesus’ disciples into all truth

-      He will bear witnesses of Jesus and remind he disciples everything Jesus taught them while on the earth
