INTRODUCTION

The teacher revises the previous lesson and introduces the new topic by Explaining what homonyms and homophones are

 

Homonyms are words that have the same sound, and perhaps the same spelling as another but with a different meaning

 

Homophones are words that have the same pronunciation but are different in both meaning and spelling

Using their meanings she differentiates the spellings of the homophones but pronounces them same way

Eyes- the part of the body used for seeing

Ice- very cold

 

Too- and adverb that means also, or as well

Two- the number 2

 

Hymn- a song that praises

Him- a boy or male child

 

Steel-a strong metal from iron

Steal-to take something that does not belong to you

 

Leak- a hole or crack through which liquid can pass through

Leek- a long, whole and green vegetables

 

Know- to have something in your mind

No- to refuse or deny anything

 

Wood- the trunk or branches of a tree

Would- past tense of ‘will’

 

Through- from one end or side to the other

Threw- past tense of ‘throw’

 

Sent- the past tense of ‘sent’

 

cent- a coin of money used in America and other countries

 

Flower- the part of a plant that produces seeds and sometimes fruits

Flour- finely grinded wheat
