BAUCHI

It is the capital of Bauchi state. It was founded during the Fulani jihad established by the Sokoto Caliphate in 1973. It served as one of the locations where followers of radical Muslim Muhammadu Marwa was located. Bauchi has a tropical savannah climate. It is home to the renowned Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University. Its population is estimated at 300,000
