A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.

NOTE

A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.

 

ZARIA

It is located in Kaduna state. It was founded in the 11th century by Queen Bakwa Turunku, th 22nd ruler. She built strong walls around the city. It was earlier called Zazzau and was later changed to Zaria in 1536 in honour of Turunku’s granddaughters. Zaria chronicled 60 rulers before the Fulani Jihad led by Usman Dan Fodio.

During the British era, military post was in Zaria. Zaria is the home to the famous Ahmadu Bello University. Its population is 400,000
