A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.

NOTE

A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.

 

ABEOKUTA

It is located in Ogun state. It is also the capital of Ogun state and the home to the Chief(Alake) of Egba land. Abeokuta means “Under the rock”. The ton was one of the first locations of the European Christian Missions e.g The Anglican Church Missionary Society. Notable Nigerians like Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther was sent to Abeokuta to do missionary work Abeokuta produced many western-educated people including Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti who led a protest against a corrupt Alake and the taxation of the Abeokuta women
