NOTE
A town is a place with many streets and buildings, where people live and work. Towns are larger than villages and smaller than cities.
ABA
It is the main city centre and the heartbeat of Abia state. It is located on the Aba river. The indigenous people of Aba are the Ngwa. Aba is well known for its craftsmen. Aba’s major contributions are textiles and palm oil along with pharmaceuticals, plastics, cement and cosmetics which made the Ariaria International Market the largest market in West Africa. There is also a Heineken brewery, a glass company and distillery within the city. In 1901, The British founded a military post in Aba and in 1915, a railroad was constructed to link it to Port Harcourt, which transported agricultural goods such as palm oil, palm kernels etc. its estimated population is 2,434,265.
