SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to
1) Explain the meaning and examples of mineral food
2) List the articles for cleaning the hair
3) Describe how to care for the hair
4) Enumerate some common hair infections
INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.
INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources, pictures and chart of mineral foods, real mineral foods e.g nuts and seeds, shellfish, yoghurt, cheese, etc, charts showing the articles used in caring for the hair, pictures of people with hair infections

Some of these minerals include 1. calcium 2. phosphorus 3. magnesium 4. potassium 5. sodium 6. chromium 7. copper 8. fluoride 9. iron 10. zinc 11. iodine
She lists the examples of mineral foods 1. shellfish 2, nuts and seeds 3. yoghurt 4. cheese 5. millet etc | Pupils pay attention |
STEP 3 DEMONSTRATION | She lists the articles used in caring for the hair 1. comb 2. hair brush 3. shampoo 4. hair dryer 5. curling combs 6. flat irons etc
She describes how to care for the hair 1. wash it properly with shampoo 2. apply hair conditioner 3. barb or plait the hair as appropriate 4. do not share hair articles with others 5. trim off the weak strands of hair to avoid further breakage and damage on the hair 6. Avoid using harmful chemicals on the hair
