INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: pictures showing the benefits of democracy, chart/picture showing people in a community cooperating with one another, pictures of the Nigeria security agents, textbooks, audio-visuals etc, pictures/chart of readily available drugs, examples of labels or pockets of common drugs in Nigeria

Democracy is a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections.

 The teacher highlights some benefits of democracy

1. There are ways to resolve different views and conflicts peacefully.

2. There is Respect for human dignity.

3. The freedom to act, speak and think freely (as long as it does not stop others doing the same).

4. There is equality before the law.

5. We have a safe and secure community.

6. We enjoy good government that is efficient, transparent, responsive and accountable to citizens.

7. We have the Ability to hold elected representatives accountable.

Creativity as an element of security is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems of insecurity

Drug is any substance (other than food) that is used to prevent, diagnose, treat, or relieve symptoms of a disease or abnormal condition.

7. Vitamin C
