SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Define the word ‘singing’
  2. Identify the things that happen in their environments e.g rain, traffic lights, stars, sun etc and sing about them

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration, videos from source, experimentation

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: musical instruments like piano, keyboards, drums etc, music textbooks on singing

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revisits the previous lesson about singing and introduces the new topic by explaining what flowering plants means plants that produces flowers

EXPLANATION

The teacher then further gives examples of flowers- rose flower, sunflower, hibiscus flower etc and explains the importance of flowery plants

1. they have positive effect on our mood and emotions

2. they provide seeds that make it possible to grow more flowers

3. they absorb carbon dioxide and radiate more oxygen to the environment

She further explains teaches them songs about flowery plants

 

5 little flowers standing in the sun

See their heads nodding

Bowing one by one

Down down down falls the gentle rain

And the five little flowers lift up their head again

EVALUATION:    1. What are flowery plants?

  1. Give some examples of flowers
  2. Discuss three importance of flowery plants

CLASS ACTIVITY: Pupils are asked to sing in small groups about flowery plants as taught by the teacher

CLASSWORK: As in evaluation

CONCLUSION: The teacher commends the pupils positively
