SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to

1) Explain the two classes of energy-giving foods

2) Discuss how to care for the hands and feet

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration.

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: Audio visual resources, pictures and chart of energy-giving foods, charts showing the care of the hand and feet

The teacher revises the previous lesson on energy foods and reasons for caring for the body daily

Explaining the two classes of energy giving foods

1. carbohydrates e.g rice, yams, potatoes, bread, garri etc

2. Fats and oils- butter, coconut, butter, groundnut oil, palm oil, etc

DEMONSTRATION

She explains how to care for the hand and feet

1. trimming the nails on the hands and on the feet

2. taking bath with soap, sponge and water

3. washing the hands and feet properly with soap and water and drying it with a clean towel

4. spraying hand sanitizer to kill germs
