STEP 1 INTRODUCTION | The Teacher introduces the new topic by explaining what deliverance means – Passover is a Jewish holiday that honors the freedom and exodus of the Israelites (Jewish slaves) from Egypt during the reign of the Pharaoh | Pupils pay attention |
STEP 2 EXPLANATION | She gives further explanation of how the Passover came about - God had asked Moses to go and deliver the Israelites from Egypt - Pharaoh was stubborn and adamant to release them - So God sent 10 plagues to Egypt including the last one where all the first born of man and animals died | Pupils pay attention and anticipate |
STEP 3 Demonstration | Using the Bible story books and the pictures there in she narrates what happened during the Passover - On the night before the 10th plague, God asked the Israelites to slaughter and sacrifice a lamb and put its blood on their doorpost - While the angel of death was passing by, if it sees the blood of the lamb, it will pass over - So it happened, that the entire Egypt was in great mourning the following morning as all their firstborns, both man and animals died in the night but nothing happened to any of the firstborn both man and animals of the Israelites - The Jews celebrate the Passover festival as a Day of remembrance to how they escaped death in the hands of the angel of death | Pupils pay attention and participate |

NOTE
