SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to

  1. Explain the meaning of road
  2. Identify different road users
  3. Explain how each user correctly uses the road
  4. Distinguish between the various ways of shutting down the computer

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNIQUES: Identification, explanation, playway method, questions and answers, demonstration, videos from source, experimentation

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS: stone, metre rule, iron, pictures of heavy objects that can sink in water

INTRODUCTION

The teacher revisits the previous lesson on objects that sink in water

EXPLANATION

The teacher explains the meaning of road

Road is an open way for vehicles, persons and animals

 

The teacher further lists the various road users

1. pedestrians

2. cars

3. bicycles

4. trailers

5. trucks etc

Pupils pay attention and participates

DEMONSTRATION

The teacher further explains how road users should use the road

1. Know the road signs and their meanings

2. pay attention. Keep all distractions away

3. Don’t run and play on the roads

4. Always use sidewalks if you’re a pedestrian

5. Never stick hands or any other part of the body out of the window of a moving vehicle

6. Never cross roads at bends

7. Stop, look and cross

The teacher writes a short note on the board

The pupils copy the note in their books

 

NOTE

Restart- Also known as warm booting means when the Operating system is rebooted

 

Shutdown- this is to remove power from a computer’s main components in a controlled way.

Ways of shutting down the computer system
