NOTE
States in Nigeria
There are 36states in Nigeria plus the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) under the control of the Federal government. In Nigeria, there are 774 local government areas.
JIGAWA (The New world)
It is located in Northern Nigeria. Its capital is Dutse. It was created out of Kano state in 1991. Economic activities include groundnut and cassava cultivation and cattle rearing. It consists of 27 local government areas.
KADUNA (Centre of Learning)
It is located in the North west. Its capital is Kaduna. It was created out of North western states in 1976. Economic activities include growing of cotton, rice and chilli pepper. It consists of 23 local government areas.
KANO (Centre of Commerce)
It was created in 1967. It is one of the 12 states that introduced aspects of Sharia into their criminal codes. Its capital is Kano. Economic activities include growing of millet and cattle herding. It consists of 44 local government areas
KATSINA STATE (Home of Hospitality)
It was created from Kaduna state in 1987. It is located in Northern Nigeria. It capital is Katsina. Economic activities include herding cattle, cultivating grains, cotton and groundnuts. It consists of 34 local government areas.
